Perrys Presents: Female Ambassador Project
Traditionally, the automotive sector has been a male-dominated industry. At Perrys, we aspire to make this stereotype a thing of the past. It is important to us that we represent the community that we serve. To support this strategy we have launched our Female Ambassadors project.
Inspired by our Managing Director, Darren Ardron joining the 30% Club, a business campaign aimed at boosting the number of women in key roles, the Female Ambassador Project at Perrys was born out of the inventiveness and interest of our HR Director, Nicky Holdcroft.
With this initiative, we aim to showcase the talented women within our business through a series of interviews to inspire other women to join the sector.
Our aim is to interview women within Perrys who are employed in traditionally male roles. Already we have a couple of interviews under our belt, with amazing female colleagues who are inspirational.
The objective is to show women that there are a wide range of career opportunities for them in the automotive sector; from technician, retail manager, service manager to branch manager and many other positions.
In our first interview, below, we had the opportunity to speak with Ilki Gumuskaynak, retail manager at Perrys Preston MG, and Niamh O’Mahoney, service technician at Perrys Milton Keynes about what their roles and what it means to be part of the project.
We hope you enjoy our project and plans for the future and please stay tuned for our next video, when we will be talking about the position of sales manager in the business with two amazing women who fulfill this role for us.
