UK Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle Grant Gets Extension
The Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle Grant has been extended for 18 months, from 14th June 2021 to 31st March 2023.
When the grant was put in place in 2021, it was there to help give access to families interested in switching to electric. However, the extension has been implemented due to supply shortages and will help those still waiting for their vehicle delivery.
The grant was designed to promote investments in electric vehicles in the UK, helping the EV market to grow, increasing sustainability, and reducing emissions – pushing for a sustainable future.
The extension will not allow car buyers to place an order and take advantage of the discount; it is only intended for existing applications. These will continue to be honoured and allow the fulfillment of orders made through the scheme.
The incoming ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in 2030 has sparked an interest in electric vehicles, and the demand continues to rise.
