Vehicle Description
Used Car Review: 2019 Mazda 3 2.0 Sport Nav+ (69 Plate)
Sleek Styling, Sharp Drive – A Driver’s Hatchback with Premium Feel
The 2019 Mazda 3 2.0 Sport Nav+ is a great example of how Mazda blends sharp design, engaging driving dynamics, and top-tier build quality into an affordable hatchback. With its sporty looks, generous spec list, and solid reputation for reliability, this 69-plate model stands out as a refined and rewarding used buy.
⚙️ Engine & Driving Performance
This Mazda 3 is powered by a 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine, delivering 122bhp through a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Despite lacking a turbo, it’s naturally aspirated and smooth, with a linear power delivery and enough punch for everyday driving.
What really makes the Mazda 3 shine is its handling — the steering is precise, body control is tight, and it feels well-balanced through corners. It’s a hatchback that rewards enthusiastic drivers without sacrificing everyday comfort.
Fuel economy is solid too, averaging 43–47 mpg, depending on driving style and gearbox choice.
🛋️ Interior, Tech & Comfort – Sport Nav+ Trim
The Sport Nav+ trim brings a touch of luxury and plenty of modern features. The interior feels upmarket and well thought-out, with soft-touch materials and a minimalist, driver-focused layout.
Standard features include:
✅ 8.8" infotainment display with rotary controller
✅ Integrated sat nav
✅ Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
✅ Reversing camera & front/rear parking sensors
✅ Heated front seats & steering wheel
✅ Dual-zone climate control
✅ Head-up display
✅ Premium BOSE sound system (on some versions)
The seats are supportive and comfortable on long drives, and the cabin is quiet thanks to good insulation. Rear seat space is a bit tighter than some rivals, but the 351-litre boot is practical enough for daily needs.
🎨 Exterior Design
Mazda’s KODO design language really shines here. The 2019 model is one of the best-looking hatchbacks in its class — with sleek bodywork, slim LED headlights, and a sporty yet elegant stance. Even years after launch, the 69-plate Mazda 3 still turns heads and feels premium.
In Sport Nav+ trim, you also get:
🔹 18-inch alloy wheels
🔹 LED front & rear lights
🔹 Gloss black exterior accents
🔹 Shark-fin antenna and privacy glass
🛡️ Safety & Reliability
Mazda doesn’t hold back when it comes to safety. The 3 received a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and the Sport Nav+ model includes:
✅ Blind spot monitoring
✅ Lane keep assist
✅ Autonomous emergency braking
✅ Traffic sign recognition
✅ Driver attention alert
✅ Cruise control with speed limiter
Mazda has a reputation for reliability, and the Skyactiv engines are known for their longevity. Servicing costs are reasonable, and the overall running costs are competitive with other family hatchbacks.
✅ Final Verdict
The 2019 Mazda 3 2.0 Sport Nav+ (69 plate) is an excellent used buy for drivers who want something more engaging than the usual suspects. With sporty handling, strong standard equipment, and premium-level styling, it feels like a car from a class above.
Ideal for commuters, small families, or anyone who values driving fun without giving up comfort or practicality, this Mazda is a standout in the used hatchback market — a real hidden gem for those in the know.
