Rental FAQ's
How do get my DVLA code?
With regards to the abolishment of the paper counterpart licence on the 8th June 2015, this has caused major delays on the DVLA licence check website. Therefore to save delays upon collection, please go here to generate an authority code which will allow us access to your licence information to check for points and convictions. Once on the website to generate the code, please click on the ‘the share your information’ tab at the top right, this will then generate an authority code which will be valid for 21 days only. Alternatively, you can also call 0300 790 6801 to obtain a code. Please bring this code along with you.
Are there any age restrictions?
Drivers must have held a full UK licence for at least 2 years and must not have been involved in any accidents or incidents in the past 12 months. You must be over 23 years of age to drive 1.0 litre engines, 25 years to drive 1.5 litre engines and 30 years to drive 2.0 litres and over. Unfortunately we cannot hire to anyone over the age of 75.
What documents do I need?
Two forms of ID dated in the past 3 months and a credit or debit card to pay. All drivers must bring their full valid driving licence/photo card licence.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes, a £200 security deposit must be paid using a credit/debit card on all hires.
Can I take the hire vehicle overseas?
No, I am afraid we do not rent vehicles to be taken overseas.
What forms of payments do you accept?
Acceptable methods of payment are credit/debit cards. If you now own a chip and pin card you will need to enter your PIN number in place of your signature to validate the transaction. We regret that we no longer can accept cash or cheque as a method of payment for vehicle hire. We only accept VISA, MASTERCARD or MAESTRO.
